Seer's Tunic, can I have this?

I've been a good little Mithra and done some research on what gear I need to be using and when for WHM. According to my research and Eclipstic's White Mage Equipment Guide, I've heard I should be equipping these bad boys:

• Seer's Tunic
• Seer's Slacks
• Seer's Pumps

The only problem? They're not actually available on the AH and I'm not too keen on Clothcraft (I want to cook like I did in previous MMOs!). I may just save up and get the +1 variant but considering I spent almost all of my gil in the last few days (what was I even doing?!) I have no idea how long that will take. I may be becoming reacquainted with my buddies the Moat Carp.

In other news, last night I hit 30 WHM and am prepping to join Eclips and Trisk in Crawler's Nest. I have never been before, so it should be interesting! Eclips will be playing his WHM as well, and Trisk will be levelling his DRK or THF further.

Mithra beach party!

While waiting for a party, however, I went on a little trip around the world. I had a mini beach party in my swimwear (solo, haha) at the Dunes, then waited for the boat to arrive. I trekked off to Windurst and did some fishing, then got a party in Gusgen and zoomed off.

BLM ding 25!

Two posts in one day?! Madness!

No sooner had I posted that I wanted to get BLM to 25 from 15...ding 25! I was {/cheer}ing for a while as I switched back to WHM, shared my victory with Eclips, and shopped a little for spells and gear...then I remembered that if I want to level WHM to cap I'll probably become reacquianted with BLM in the near future...possibly before I even go back to work if my levelling adventures continue!

But still, let's talk about page parties for a minute.

Level Sync party in Gusgen Mines

What is this craziness?! I'd heard on the Dreams in Vana'diel forums that Gusgen Mines parties were where it was at unless I was soloing at low levels, but I didn't expect them to be like this. I was minding my own business in La Theine and got picked up pretty quickly, ran my way out there (at Trisk's urging as I was a little dubious about trying it for the first time without friendly back-up) and got started the moment I popped in.

I didn't even have the map, but the party were pretty good, so thank you to everyone for helping me out!

A few things I noticed:

• Serious lack of EXP from mobs, but severely made up for by the page bonuses
• The parties get big fast
• Feel like dropping out after level? No problem! No one seems to mind
• Levelling from 15 to 25 in an hour and a half is not unheard of and feels awesome

So guess where I'll be hanging out tomorrow? I have Eclips promising to come join me in Crawler's Nest once I reach the mid 30s, so I'll be working on getting there tomorrow. That was surprisingly good fun!

Sunbreeze Festival 2012 - swimwear get!

As I was working hard IRL this week, I took a few breaks during the day (on my lunch, of course!) to participate in the Sunbreeze Festival 2012. Having never been around for them before -- I always seem to be unsubbed during events, boo! -- I wasn't sure what I was supposed to be doing, but a bit of research had me dancing along in no time. Of course, I did end up being the silly mithra who accidentally the wrong dance. Yup, I was that guy. I got the swimwear in the end, and went shopping as every good mithra knows how to do.

Finally got the adorable swimwear set I've been wanting for a while, the Savage Top and Savage Shorts. I will probably try and get the rest as well, but now that I have those and this year's set I'm pretty, well, set!

I've been having a bit of a midlife job crisis as well, as I initially set out with the intention of playing NIN but was discouraged by its initial cost and being too lazy to unlock the job. I also am dying to be self-sufficient as far as teleports go...so WHM is really appealing to me right now. Could I stomach it all the way up to 99? I have no idea. I have no doubts I could reach 75 but that doesn't feel like as much of an achievement these days. Plus I'd have to level BLM, oh dearie me.

That said, it does open up the options of levelling BRD and SMN, two jobs I do have a marginal interest in at a later date.

However, DNC and PLD are also sounding pretty appealing right now! So right now, it's just a case of me levelling whatever I can just to have a bit of fun. Next few days will be spent:

• Levelling BLM to 25 (currently at 15)
• Levelling WHM to 30, possibly continuing to 49 (currently at 17)
• Cooking in my Mog while wearing my pretty swimwear by the fireside

No doubt there'll be more updates to come as time goes by!

Back to Vana'diel

So, I'm back in Vana'diel, and it only seemed appropriate that I should have a new blog to suit the new start. For reference, I started playing about four years ago, played for about a year, quit and started all over again on a new character. I'd love to say that's the last time that happened, but of course I came back on another account last year because I lost my security token.

Lucky for me, I have a better half who found it for me, so my other account is cancelled and I'm back on Narachan, one of my old characters but certainly not my oldest. And I'm here to stay!

Sadly this entry isn't so pretty and doesn't have any nice screenshots on it, but bear with me! I will be updating with screenshots along my adventures. So far what I have achieved in the last week is getting my WAR to 30, farming my Kazham keys (still need to hand those in and get the pass, though...), fished some like a good little Mithra, unlocked DNC and BRD (the latter purely because it's the easiest quest ever, I'm lazy!) and managed to convince Trisk, my fiancé offline, to resubscribe and join me.

Last night, after he had successfully shipped me down the little canal in Palborough Mines and got me locked behind a one-way gate -- neither of us knew it was one-way! -- he convinced me to keep going and keep farming keys and we got the key after the third or fourth kill. All in all the actual farming took me about 45 minutes for all three together, but there was a lot of running around involved too! After that he switched out to his WAR and started levelling with me on my DNC. It was fun!

If I play tonight, it will probably just be to fish and relax, as things offline have been a bit stressful and fishing has always been a good way to unwind!
